The characteristic of the "implementation" stage in the Community Readiness Model primarily revolves around "action initiation." This stage is crucial as it signifies the point where communities begin to put their strategic plans into practice. At this juncture, the focus shifts from planning and preparation to executing the identified activities that address the community's needs. This may involve launching programs, mobilizing resources, and engaging community members in efforts to effect change.

In contrast, earlier stages like awareness-building are about informing and educating the community, while stabilization of activities refers to later phases where established initiatives are maintained over time. Long-term follow-up also pertains to post-implementation efforts aimed at assessing the impact and sustainability of the initiatives. Thus, the implementation stage is distinctly characterized by the initiation of concrete actions aimed at achieving the community's readiness goals.
